Geneviève Fioraso, Junior Minister in charge of Higher Education and Research, has introduced the platform on April 24th during the Paris Conference about Open Data and Open Government.

To achieve this project, the Ministry has worked hand-in-hand with OpenDataSoft, a French online data processing and publishing company. “Technical performance, ergonomics, ease of deployment and affordability” were key criteria for the Ministry in order to “provide everyone with a high-performance data management platform with features such as search filters, open formats or geographical data preview.

Datasets are also automatically uploaded on the French national public Open Data platform.

According to Jean-Marc Lazard, OpenDataSoft’s CEO, “By working on this project with the French Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research, OpenDataSoft has strengthened its Open Data status expert.
