OpenDataSoft announces partnership with BaleFire Global
PARIS, France – July 22, 2014 – French OpenDataSoft and US-based BaleFire Global have signed an agreement to develop comprehensive Open Data offers.
BaleFire Global, a respected American Open Data advisory company that helps organizations with Open Data platform deployments and strategies, and OpenDataSoft, Europe’s top Open Data software company, join forces to address Smart Government projects. This agreement will speed up the launch of several Open Data projects they are already working on.
A few weeks ago, OpenDataSoft joined the Open Data Institute’s (ODI) startup program. BaleFire Global being the ODI’s North Carolina node, the two companies are eager to work together as fellow members of the same organization.
BaleFire Global operates in Europe, South America, the United States and Australia, and has already helped dozens of governments discover economic benefits and build thriving engagement by opening data for citizens and the private sector. OpenDataSoft is already the technology behind several Open Data portals (e.g. the City of Paris, the City of Brussels or the French National Railway Company) and wants to combine its skills with BaleFire Global expertise in Smart Government to provide organizations with the best possible Open Data experience.
According to Jason Hare, Founder and Director of Open Data at BaleFire Global, “We have chosen OpenDataSoft because they are the best Open Data software technology on the market. Working together will bring new exciting opportunities for both of our companies.”
Jean-Marc Lazard, OpenDataSoft’s CEO, said: “Partnering with BaleFire Global is OpenDataSoft’s gateway to the American Open Data market, speeding our international development. We already have hot projects in the works and we can’t wait for them be live.”
