Press Release – OpenDataSoft
OpenDataSoft raises €1.5M and confirms its leadership at the heart of smart city initiatives
Paris, France – July 2, 2015 – Founded in 2011, OpenDataSoft is taking its business to the next level. The company just announced that it has raised €1.5 million from the venture capital fund Aurinvest.
A pioneer in Open Data and an API specialist, OpenDataSoft was the first company to develop a turnkey platform designed to enhance the value of data through interactive visualizations and APIs. Thanks to its user-friendly interface making it easy to publish and explore data, OpenDataSoft has become a valuable ally in tackling the challenges posed by the development of smart cities.
OpenDataSoft, a partner in shaping the future of sustainable cities
According to Jean-Marc Lazard, CEO of OpenDataSoft, “local governments, companies and administrations are becoming more and more aware of how important it is to open their data and make APIs available to their ecosystem. How could one launch a viable smart city project without effectively sharing the data produced by city leaders and citizens? OpenDataSoft positions itself as the ideal partner to address these priorities and support the sustainable urban transformation.”
Sandrine Mathon, Head of Toulouse Métropole Open Data, explained why the startup was chosen to collaborate with: “The platform is incredibly easy to use. Moreover, the SaaS technology enables a kind of responsiveness we were not used to as a local authority in which processes are usually very slow.”
